Samukai was a fearsome Skulkin general and the former King of the Underworld. At some point, he died and was reborn as a Skulkin in the Underworld where he united the army of the undead and became their ruler. Upon Garmadon's banishment, Garmadon took over the Underworld and became the realm's new ruler. Nonetheless, Samukai retained a position high on the Underworld hierarchy as Garmadon's second-in-command and the retaining the title as King while carrying out his superior's will.
